Keep calling me, 'Lord, Lord'! When you don't do what I say? Luke 6:46
Ha!ha! Why do we call out, cry out continuously about the same thing? Don't you get tired of hearing your kids, family, etc etc etc complaining about the same thing over and over? I know I do...and as with training in counseling I can tell you that when people come to you, listen to you, then go out doing what they want, the same thing they've always done ... it's nuts!! They come running back asking WHY!? WHY!? when we pursue it comes down to one thing .... ready?
They ask for help, ask for a solution yet they go out and react, approach that issue the same way they have for years ... then are surprised to get the same result. We all know the definition of insanity ... doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different result.
I see it in many people, I've done it many times in my own life AND I see it in organizations, corporations, business, addicts ... Is there a cycle in your life that needs to be broken? Be patient with yourself and with others ... Love yourself ... Love those in your life ...
It's just like our Father does with us ... He is most patient but even he gets tired of the same cries, the same tears ... He wants so much more for us. Finally, he says, why do you keep crying to me ... DO IT!! Raise that staff and assert your authority!
Don't realize or understand YOUR authority as a believer? ... get into the WORD. Answers to everything are in the Bible ... our life manual.
What is stopping you?
Ain't no stopping me now ... I'm on the loose (pardon the syntax there but sometimes "ain't" is just right for conveyance)
I'm stepping out in faith because I trust in His word and "I am loved with an everlasting love (Jer 31;3)". I'm stepping out in adventure as I vow to visit, one new spot in Savannah each week, exploring this city that I've merely existed in for a few years ... I existed but did not idle, I learned, grew in Christ so that I would be ready for God's next step.
So this morning I sit in Sentient Bean enjoying the atmosphere ... it reminds me of Little Five Points ... an eclectic mix of patrons surrounding me, and I do mean eclectic. It is perfect for people watching as you have the tourists stopping by, artists hanging out, business conducted and a young man at an adjacent table shyly casting glances at the young woman sitting beside m A look of hope each time he looks, will this be the time she will look up and he can make eye contact ... will see that openness in his eyes to initiate a smile.
Alas, he gives up, packs his things and leaves casting one last fertive glance, one last chance for that "enchanted exchange". Of course, he does not see that as he walks out the door, she glances up at him, with what? longing, disappointment, relief? wishing he had boldly approached? Another day perhaps...
This week Sentient Bean ... next week who knows!! I'm on an adventure... Lovin' every minute of it ... I LLUUUVV IT! LLUUUVV IT! LLLUUUVVV IT!
God is so very very good to me and I press on to the goal for the prize of the high calling of God! (Phil 3:14)
What do you love? What is your next adventure ... things are happening NOW!
